Safe Harbor
For some people it is a light in the front window, warm and welcoming. For others it is a lovely soul who makes them feel utterly and completely at ease – no fear to be found.
For me it is a big, old rock positioned between land and sea. I can see it while sailing down Highway 46, if the fog hasn’t settled in yet, and when I arrive I know that I am back in my Safe Harbor and almost home.

Down Doggie
It is my belief that human beings were created for the express purpose of bringing joy to their critters! When I lie on my back to begin yoga stretches, one of my pets will saunter over, climb up on top, and look me straight in the face. It's as if they are saying, “Why thank you! Where have you been? I've been waiting for you!” Hence, my idea for “Down Doggie” was formed.
New Moon Rising
Every woman is a hero. Her days are filled with happiness, sorrow, humor, frustration, grief and joy. If she is a very wise woman, she will count her blessings and be confident in the knowledge that just around the corner. . . there is a New Moon Rising.
Light Sleepers
The house comes alive at night, after the grownups have retreated for a few hours rest. A child comes to stand by the bed needing a moments reassurance. A dog drinks too much before resting and needs to be let out. It would be nice to think that the day is done once hitting the sack, but sometimes the night is the busiest part of the day!
Breaking Glass
Men and women are different! Women tend to be more open and expressive. Men tend to hold their feelings inside and only show what they have to. This painting expresses those differences. The woman’s appearance is softer, more transparent. The man is more opaque and appears to be more rigid. The tears represent the fragility of the relationship. But alas, there is hope! The bird is a symbol of happiness, and good things to come.! They will have a future together!
New Dawn Rising
Throw open your arms and breathe in the sweet air. Celebrate! Your children are raised, the “stuff” in your life is momentarily under control, and the possibilities are endless! Be happy . . . for today, if only for a day . . . there is a “New Dawn Rising”.
Rareified Air
Becoming a mother is the most life altering experience a woman can have. Mother and child merge, and for the first six months their lives become a blur of feedings, changings, and sleepless nights. The space that they share becomes a cocoon of rarified air – a place to hope, dream and share their most intimate secrets. A place to form a bond that will never be broken.
